We roll up our sleeves and work tirelessly in the field with the Front Line and Leadership Teams, including staff and contractors alike. What We Have Learned - Our View Point
Our learnings over the last 26 years as Trusted Implementers:
- Without exception most client personnel feel they spend too much time in meetings. The solution is to design a Core Meeting Cadence (CMC) which is fit for purpose with increased focus on data driven decisions.
- Most organisations have metrics, usually too many to manage. The opportunity is to agree on which metrics are key and aligned to the goals at each level of the organisation and to increase the visibility and discussion around these key metrics.
- People turn up to do the best they can but can be frustrated by the feeling that they are not listened to or empowered to make changes they need.
- There are capability gaps between veteran staff and the younger staff. This includes differences in culture on how new technology can be used. Bespoke programs that include practical up-skilling sessions and include both veteran and less experienced staff can positively influence the culture of performance and close the existing gaps .
- The majority of organisations have agile improvement teams which are successful in driving some change, but are often held back because of political barriers and are not viewed as independent of the organisation. PCC can work hand in hand with existing improvement teams and have the independence to increase the levels of challenge to implementing change.
- There are often too many change programs to implement simultaneously and some programs fail to deliver on their promises. Prioritising same based on impact and ease of implementation provides a clear picture on what to implement.
- Increasing appropriate feedback on team and individual performance provides a sense of worth and direction and motivates employees to apply discretional effort.
- There are many occasions where with the best intentions leaders implement large scale change programs, but do not have the necessary buy in from middle management. Change Impact Assessments coupled with a robust implementation plan ensures success.
- For definitive pieces of work there should be a robust co-created Sustainability Plan that allows the client to take over from the consultants at an agreed point.
